Answers:    The size of the nodule is not that big of a deal as long as it is below 1.0 cm. The vital thing to file is growth. Is it enlarging? Cancers do not shrink. A nuclear exam will with the sole purpose give an indication of whether it is cancerous or not. Hoarseness or poor movement of the voluble cords is an ominous sign. The best test is to re-ultrasound within 3-6 months and check for growth. If it's still growing then most surgeons would recommend thyroidectomy. Endocrinologists can recommend suppressive psychoanalysis also. there are plentiful ways to treat this and all of them are correct.
Of course you should be concerned. The thyroid is a completely important gland and a growth on it could indicate cancer at the worst or a malfunctioning thyroid, which requirements to be medically evaluated and treated. in medical jargon you have a multi-noduler goitre.
you will entail a FNAC study from the nodules to decide whether nearby is cancer or not ------.that is the with the sole purpose decision making check
discuss with you doc asap.
I have an enlarged thyroid, goiter, with a few nodules and be sent to have a nuclear examination too. This is to see if the nodules is "hot" or "cold". Mine was hot, which indicated that they be not cancerous. My thyroid functions were commonplace too so I didn't do anything. I was tested per annum and seen by an endocrinologist. Finally a few nodules become larger then 1cm and I be sent for a needle biopsy, which come back ok. However, my thyroid functions finally become hyper, too high, and it be suggested that I have a full thyroidectomy since both lobes be involved. I now pilfer synthroid to replace the hormones produced by the thyroid and I have my level checked twice a year. I feel MUCH better. Many woman within my family enjoy thyroid problems, so I was not surprised when I developed this. It is hugely common and something that can effortlessly be taken care of. Good luck!
