Cirrhosis & ascites, anyone be through this?
Someone close to me has both of these. The doctors own given her 30-60 days to live. Have you been through this or know anyone that have recovered from it. And if so, what did you/they do for treatment?
Answers:
I have not be through this but I know several people who own been due to hep c. The with the sole purpose treatment for this is a liver transplant. Has your friend been evaluated by a transplant center? If she is have these symptoms, you can take her to the ER, but as for curing the situation, she will requirement a liver transplant because her liver is failing. I'm sorry she's going through this. I'll keep her within my prayers.
Yes, the ascites can be treated with a diuretic usually the most adjectives one is named Lasik and sometimes they have need of to do a fine needle aspiration to drain the sea. no sodium or salt contained by the diet or high protein. This individual must be supported and planned for transplant. Hopefully they will get things beneath control and he/she will get a unmarked liver and an extension of life. Transplant is not a cure but a treatment as the virus remains surrounded by the blood stream.
Yours,
RR
When the liver first starts to have a problem, because of
various different reasons, it usually starts next to inflammation.
This can be treated and cured.
When it progresses to cirrhosis, which is death of the liver
cell that causes mark tissue, this usually isn't possible.
Let me explain why. The scar tissue that forms inside the
liver can block the blood flowing through the liver. This
blockages stops the other able-bodied cells, that are in attendance,
from receiving fuel and oxygen it needs. So,
they die also and it keep progressing. The doctors
can try to slow it down with medication, but nearby has
be nothing found, so far, to stop it completely or
reverse it, especially when the fluid starts to build contained by
the abdominal area. You may ask why almost this
also? The liver makes a protein certain as Albumin.
When the liver becomes so diluted with defacement tissue,
it can no longer do the functions it once did, and one of
them is making this protein. This protein is important
inflict it keeps the fluid inside our vessel. If it goes
too low, which is what happen in cirrhosis because the
liver cannot gross it, the fluid seeps out into the
abdominal nouns and keeps building up.
The certainty that she has cirrhosis and ascites and what you
said the doctors statement of days vanished...pretty much tells
me that their isn't much that can be done.
Cirrhosis have many different cause and many different
symptoms: this is a massively easy article to read.

The one and only thing possible may be have a liver transplant.
She would have to stir through an evaluation process where
they would do several tests and she would see a phycologist and social worker. She should be beside the best doctor who knows the most around liver disease, and that is a
Hepatologist. The doctors will opt if she has ample
strength to go through the long surgery of a liver transplant
and may place her on the document.
To understand the transplant process:

For in a minute, the doctors "may have" her on a low sodium diet and be giving her diuretics to try to help the fluid from forming.
This is not a cure...it is in recent times to try to make her comfortable.
If the fluid become too much that it makes her
discomfited, they can do a procedure known as
a paracentesis. This will meekly drain the fluid from the
abdomen. But, the fluid will return...rationale she doesn't
have the albumin protein. They can try to supply her
albumin through IV, but this doesn't last and it still will
finishing up with like peas in a pod results.
If this would of been caught rash enough and the doctors
would not of made that statement, afterwards I would say that
she could of be anywhere in the precipitate to late stages of
this disease and would of I don`t know lived alot longer.
The doctors do not know how long she will last...they
pass an estimate by what they see on her test results and
remark with their eyes.
I'm sorry to hear that this is someone close to you. This
is highly hard to agreement with. I hope this information is of
some serve. The time that you can spend with them immediately
is very prominent.
Some people shy away of someone so in poor health because of the
ache inside of them.but really, they regret it after that and wish
they would of be with them as much as they could.
Best wishes
