Breast cancer - mastectomy and treatment after. Anyone out at hand have any experience of it?
I've been diagnosed near breast cancer and am having a mastectomy followed by chemo and radiotherapy. I hold the option of renewal at the same time but am worried in the region of the effect of radiotherapy on it. Can anyone offer me their guidance or tell me their experience of the together thing? It's unquestionably worrying and nerve-wracking and i'm trying to make a ruling.
Answer:
Not from a personal point of view but I own from a nursing point of view.
I own seen women hold a mastectomy and refuse reform...some will have it done latter, others opt for it at the time of the mastectomy. In that situation I would have the renewal at the same time. Its traumatic to own to undergo crucial surgery a second time when it can all be done at once. The radiotherapy will not affect the restoration. If you want the reconstruction I would push for having it done at duplicate time. It causes smaller number mental trauma too. It can be hard for a woman to adjust to have no breast post surgery. Self esteem tends to be sophisticated (in my observation) in woman who own had re-enactment and mastectomy.
my niece had it, she is so proud of her bright boobs.I was within hospital with a female, had one past its sell-by date years before she said i am have the other one off presently they wanted to do lumpectomy I told them give somebody a lift the blasted thing stale, well that be a fab way of thinking so when I have a lump I always believe of that lady what courage,my lumpy boobs be sorted thank god abscess in the nipple sorry to hear of your doomed to failure news though but other think positive, unproblematic for me to say but I enjoy been contained by hospital with plentifully of positive women who have have the all clear devout luck with the surgery and chemo xx
I own never been through it, but this might alleviate the process of further treatment. My suggestion is serious vitimin C. The RDA says 64 miligrams a hours of daylight. Linus Pauling who got 2 nobel prizes for his work on vitimin C and life chemestry said a minimum of 1000 mg a day and 2000 mg if you are sick. I have something, to this day the doctors enjoy no idea what it be, but I was flat on my put a bet on for 2 weeks in usually Nov and again within Feb. I went on vit C when I get sick and after a couple of years I have never be sick again. During those times I was sick I took a varying amount day by day and it followed a bell curve over the 2 weeks. I was up to 40,000 mg a morning at one point, 300,000 mg over 2 weeks. It was a diminish range I have to maintain. If I took too much I get diarrea and if I took too little I was sick. In that stock I was totally asymptomatic. You obligation to drink a lot of wet because Vit C is a natural diarretic. Also, you doctor will say aloud your kidneys will disolve or calcify, but drink the water and it SHOULD be fine. A couple of years ago the have a report out that said the best cancer-fighter was Interferon - at $15,000 a gram - but it also said that Interferon is a product of the intuitive breakdown of Vit C in your system. Shortly after that they tried to fashion Vit C by perscription only. Guess why. Good luck.
I have a mastectomy, followed by chemotherapy and radiotherapy, in 1995.
I yearning I had have the option of recontruction at the time, it wasnt available or offered at the time.
It will be 12 years since my operation this coming March, and although I be offered reconstrution a few years later, Ive not have it done.
If I was you I would do it in a minute.
Go the Breastcancer.org. They have a chat room. That would be a query you could ask the women in nearby. Good luck.
I have simply been through it myself - and I opt not to have breast re-enactment. l was worried that my body might reject it, as happen to a friend of mine.
It has be a year now since I finished my chemotherapy - and I am fine - thoroughly healthy. You will be too. Just believe surrounded by LIFE and take respectively day as your first. Good luck and God bless you. There are lots of believable prothesis on the market. They fit them especially for you. My quill fell out, but is now growing rear legs, still short and has turned out terrifically curly. It looks cool. I wore bandannas until some growth came wager on. It is not the end of the world, believe me. Have reliance and think positively.
