Strep throat? Mono? Just the flu?
I'm going on night #3 and am determined to discover what is wrong next to me. I've been showing the following symptoms unwaveringly throughout the past 3 days:
- tonsils are unbelievably red and swollen (hard to swallow/breathe) and I can see white pus (I can't put my finger on whether it's spots or a full whitish covering, either mode, tonsils are infected)
- extremely swollen glands in d¨Ścolletage
- complete lack of get-up-and-go
- chills
- headache
- mild fever (on daytime 1)
- minor earache (barely noticeable majority of the time)
I'm interested to know people's experiences and diagnosis that exhibited similar symptoms. Home-remedies and direction for seeking medical assistance would also be greatly appreciated.
Answers: It could be a combo of things, but I've had strep throat MANY times and these are distinctly the symptoms. With strep, you feel sick, tired and can own fever because you hold an infection in your body. For sure swollen glands , crude, infected tonsils and even earache could all be because of strep. This is really considered an "upper respiratory infection" and if you do not treat it, this could catch into your lungs and turn into bronchotis and even pneumonia.
Since this is an infection and not a virus (although you could simultaneously have the flu...it is VERY prevelant this year) you should dance to the doctor and get on some antibiotics to knock out the infection. Advil is in fact very decisive with body ache. Tylenol is also good, merely don't mix the two. Do one or the other. And the #1 thing you should do for your throat IMMEDIATELY is start gargle with melt salt sea 3-4 times a day. I promise you will see relief in 24 hours.
Additionally, you should be taking 2000 mg of Vitamin C a day. Break it up into two doses a year. Also, Echinacia is great for boosting immune system, although it may be more effective at keeping you from getting sick (taken past the fact) than it is getting rid of an illness.
And finally, drink LOTS of wet and get plenty of rest!
SAME THING HERE
i quality like crap =( I would utter it could be strep but in any baggage it sounds like tonsilitis and you would obligation an antibiotic for it. Call your doctor as without antibiotics an infection is liable to find worse or possibly spread! Good luck and feel better!!
im thinking the flu...mono and strepthroat dont lately come like that, if uve have episodes of either one, consequently u could have them
but remember it is flu season...i caught it 11 days ago and havent gotten rid of it.
they adjectives have similar symptoms...so dont rely on them
if ur worried roughly speaking mono or streprthroat go rob a culture test...any clinic or doc can do those for u
ask your doc to check ur tonsels...tonsilitis could be another problem...a moment ago go capture checked kiddo
could be strep or mono or both. (mono affects your immune system, so strep and other infections often move about hand-in-hand with it). the biggest telltale of mono is that you will surface absolutely emaciated all the time and be more or smaller amount incapable of your normal day by day activities. my guidance is to go to a doctor and capture it checked out. once you know, you can act appropriately. i had mono end fall and i go for a month before i be diagnosed -- not recommended!
hope you consistency better soon!

Sounds like strep , conceivably mono but not the flu. If you have strep and do not treat it you can die. It will do your kidneys to fail. This is not something that "newly goes away" worse luggage you go see a doctor, walk to the er or an urgent care center. If you dont enjoy money go to the er they cant junk you if you dont have insurance.
Please return with this checked !
See a Dr. pronto. If it is Strep pyrogenes the toxins from the stp bacteria can prejudice your heart muscle. As an acupuncturist I would still strongly suggest a Dr at this point
Not seeing a Dr if you have strep is exposing those around you It's unequivocally an upper respiratory infection...tonsilitis has similiar symptoms of strep...obtain to a doctor..you need antibiotics..ask for Avelox it's the best I hold taken . 1 pill every 24 hours and they are not "horse pills". Feel better
with chills, sounds approaching you have a frenzy & may need to see a DR for antibiotics.
preference you well.
