As you enjoy double posting I repost this here:
Biopsy can show the type of cell there is surrounded by the adrenal gland. However, biopsy is also a function of chance, sometimes biopsy doesn't pick up the pathological cell.
PET can detect the functional pathology of the tissues and probably the most accurate in confirming it. However, I would close to to suggest second opinion from other specialists. Just a suggestion
The biopsy medium the growth is not malignant, as in cancer. However a growth on the adrenal glands is not a worthy thing. Wait for the test results. I know you will worry only just try to stay calm and ruminate the best.
Ever do an autopsy?
Its rare that everything is where on earth it is supposed to be. There is a huge amount of variation from human to human. We're adjectives tought that the spleen goes here and the liver go there and the lungs etc ... and most of the time they do.
But sometimes they don't.
And even so, the individual may live a perfectly run of the mill life.
Similarly, you might find a spot cause by tissue that isn't where the encyclopaedia says it should be. Short of screaming to the skies "That just ain't right..." there's not much medical types can do save for grin and say "Hmm..."
Just because near is a spot there doesn't necessarily miserable it's a bad article. It could be benign, meaning non cancer, of late a growth, we all find them. A pet scan shows if there is any more "uptake" contained by that area, if in attendance is that could mean more blood flow, which mechanism something bad could be near. Your doc. maybe only telling you near is a possibility it could be bad so you can attain used to the idea, and the enjoy to tell you every possibility up front. If the PET, is neg. the biopsy is neg. next they may just monitor it to see if it grows or begins to interfere beside any other body functions. Best advice I can bequeath, be patient permit them try to figure out what it is and if within the end you are unsatisfied ask someone else it's your father life and body. It isn't impossible until you know the exact answer..
