Double Varicella Vaccination?
My daughter had the chicken pox vaccine when she be a year and a half and we be living in PA. We've in a minute moved to GA, and her new pediatrician say because she was given the vaccine individual 25 days after another vaccine, it was invalid. They said they must revacciante her surrounded by order for her warrant of vaccinations to be valid. I'm unanimously pro vaccinations, but don't approaching a lot of a double vaccine, and I don't approaching what I've read about varicella. The imperviousness may only concluding 20 or less years, making my daughter succeptible to the disease when she's an fully developed. I'm a university nurse and a C-Pox vaccine being invalid because it be given 25 after another vaccine is a new one on me but requirements and standards ebb and flow from state to state. But I can tell you most states require a varicella at PK or Kindergarten and are going to require a second soon by 5Th status.
However, you have other alternatives, wavers. Medical: find a doc who will vote it is OK with him/her the time between vaccines and put it within writing, then the conservatory or health department will adopt it.
Religious: If you are a member of lots religious groups you can waive the requirement for vaccines. Your doc, school nurse or strength department should have the forms. ( I maintain them in my organization that our legal department have drawn up, their use is that common).
Parental: Big gray area here, some college districts and counties recognize a parents right to disallow just because they are the child's parents, your university nurse might have this form also.
However, if you use a waiver and near is a outbreak of varicella in your arts school or county your child can and will be excluded from school for a interval of time. You can get inoculation exemptions-but that's up to you. Chicken pox is serious business if you're an adult, but if you are a hearty child-no problem. Even if you are vaccinated, you can still catch it-my vaxed niece caught it from another vaccinated child! I'm anti-vax, but most those do agree that natural imperviousness to chicken pox is the best-don't have to verbs about it as an fully fledged!
