Vaccine against HIV?
Can the cowpox virus serve as a vaccine against HIV? I'm just curius because I be doing an AP bio homework that was roughly speaking getting an article on HIV and this question simply popped up in my mind. I remember reading for a time about it contained by Biology Honors, 2 years ago, but I forgot. Anyone knows?
Answers: No,
cowpox is used for small pox.
There is no vaccine for HIV.
smallpox is cause by a virus that primarily attacks the skin and mucosa. this virus does not change the DNA of the host cell and 90% of the infections are resolved in around a month.
HIV, on the other hand, is cause by a virus that attacks and changes the DNA of the host.
They are as different from respectively other as the common cold is different from chickenpox.
AT this point surrounded by time there are no vaccine's for HIV. There are plentifully of trials going on, but I have not hear of any success however. And when we get close it will still own to run through control groups and be tested on sample audiences. That take about 5 years or so.
