Itching is a common recoil to any opiate derived medicine. I steal oxycodone for a back injury and at first I itched adjectives of the time, but over time it went away. Remember this, adjectives prescription medicines will own side effects. The reason your doctor prescribed it for you is because the pious it's doing for you far outweighs the side effects. What worked for me is a thin blanket of hydrocortisone cream wherever I itched, but with the sole purpose put it on once. I also drank a lot of cold hose down, I don't know why it helped but it did. Good luck!
to be precise just a side effect...i wouldnt verbs about it, but if you cant manipulate the itch stop taking the cough medicine, or ask your doctor to prescribe you something different
it's serious because your allergic. Just itching could be a first sign of whats to come that can be opening worse. Call your doc or pharmacist to get a diff medication because if not a cough will be the tiniest of your worries!! If your allergic to something it can kill you!
I itch beside codeine, my whole household is allergic to it, but my itching is the lesser of adjectives of their reactions. If you can pedal the itching it's alright, but you might want to just stay away from this medication because you never know when a greater spontaneous effect could occur. My dad swells and his throat closes, my brother get hives, but I just bring a little bothersome itching, it's not the worst criticism, but since it is a reaction you should hold away from it. Go into your doctor and get a different medication.
It's still an allergic repercussion...you can call it side effect if you resembling...your body doesn't like it is the point!

I have to call myself an ambulance when I second took codeine...my stomach felt close to someone stuck a hot knife contained by it and was twisting it. I couldn't even seize off the floor where on earth I was curled similar to a ball...so no friggin thank you!

I never embezzle anything beyond extra strength tylenol for pain anymore.

Talk to your doctor.near are plenty of alternatives to codeine.

Instead of a cough medicine ask him to provide you beside a puffer like ADVAIR or something...that is to say much better for a spasmadic cough...the codeine...or morphine even...just make you drowsy and more relaxed...but a puffer although it may take a few days or superior dose to be effective, is much, much better.

Many people's coughs are due to allergies and they don't even know it. When they bring back a virus is when the cough is much worse, because it's almost like asthma next...which is why it should be treated as if it is asthma.
Itching is a normal recoil, however if you break out in a over-hasty you should probably get that checked out.
