Is goitre removal a serious surgery?
my grandmother is 76 and going into surgery this week to get a goitre (goiter, whatever) removed from her nouns. Just out of curiosity should I be worried, or is this just some mild surgery i dont hold to worry in the order of? What about reclamation?

Any surgery that requires a general anaesthetic is considered chief surgery. She should be fine but if you have any query, just gossip to the Dr and the anaesthesiologist before she is admit to hospital for the surgery.
Good luck!

Surgery of any kind should be considered precarious. There are always risks involved especially the elder we get. Personally, I have my entire thyroid removed and it wasn't a terrible procedure. Recovery depends upon the long-suffering. This period shouldn't be more than a week or so back she can return to her regular routine. Be aware though, she may feel approaching crap for a while. Also, if the surgery involves her vocal cords she may enjoy issues with speaking after the surgery. Good luck to your grandmother.
