My mom a moment ago started Chemo is it common for her to be sleeping so much and she get out breath deeply well?
Answers: Hi.
My mom also slept a lot while she have her chemo. I know it is quite a shock and you are probably completely worried. Take a deep breath, it is commonplace.
Chemo treatments aren't specific. Chemo attacks many cell in the body, and so the body is wekeaned. If your mother is sleeping a great deal and getting out of breath efficiently, is probably because of this.
Her body is battling against chemotherapy. She wants to rest, as to focus her energy on convalescing.
Don't worry, the effects tend to intervene between chemos. Meaning, the first days after the chemo was injected she'll perceive weak but afterwards she might discern better (and so, the cycle begins). It also depends on your body, I guess.
Ask your doctor about it, and I'm sure he/she will be capable of explain it better. Try to relax and pamper your mother, I am sure she will appreciate it =)
Yes it usually make them tired and sleepy. I am not sure about panting though. What type of cancer does she have? Hi.. i'm sorry to hear your mom is in poor health. I'm sure it's very difficult.
Yes chemo does build people tired, and yes it's normalfor her to sleep profoundly...
Feeling out of breath, is probably a symptom of the tiredness... chemotherapy can bring a lot out of a party, but it is a treatment for recovery... it's only difficult to get through.
god bless.
Yes! Her body is self attacked by something that it's not used to. I be always tired after I be diagnosed with low category cervical cancer. Just help her rest and be within for her. Good luck! Yeah, this is normal. The chemo is traumatic on the body so contained by that respect she will be very tired.
Also, the chemo reduce the hemoglobin count which also will make her tired and short of breathe. At her subsequent doc appointment ask about her hemoglobin counts and if she should attain a blood transfusion.
Chemotherapy is a very provoking and demanding treatment process on the human body.
It is a treatment aimed at killing the cancerous cell and sometimes also affect the rapid average proliferate cells within the body like fuzz cells( that why they loose hair).
the drugs increase the strain on the body metabolism requiring the patient to attain more energy sources which explain why doctors insist to increase the day by day caloric requirements although most of patients are either nauseated or enjoy a loss of appetite.
as for the out of breath subdivision of your question , it could be that a specific drug have a bad effect on the heart prime to congestive heart problem or to a transient myopathy

Yes. I slept so much during my chemo that I lost days at a time. Sleep was the best item for me. Your body needs to rest. It's aggression a serious battle. As for the shortness of breath, she wants to tell her dr. It could be a side effect of some med.
