Afrin is not meant to be used for this length of time. Over use could raison d`¨ētre damage to your nasal tissue and front to chronic congestion.
Saline solution is a relatively safe product to use long possession. However, I would strongly recommend seeing the doctor to get this checked out.
Hey stuffed up, I have the same problem. It took me 4 years to integer out how to stop the afrin. Next time try this: when the infection is gone decide which side of your snout is the easiest to breathe out of and don't spray that side, just spray the one side until the swelling from the afrin go away (about a day or so). Then you can stop spraying the other side and still hold half of your trunk to breathe out of during the unstuffing process. Also, go to your pharmacist and ask for Sudafed (the genuine stuff that you have to sign for very soon not the stuff on the shelves) and take two of them every 4 hours or so until the process is over. I own chronic sinus infections and when things get going I can't generate it without the afrin, so this is how I take myself off of it. The problem near afrin is that after 3 days of usage the sinuses swell up really bad short it and you have to maintain using it more and more frequently.
GO to a doctor, and good for you to realise it be a problem.
Wow, as a matter of certainty, Afrin and any other nose spray is vastly addictive. The more you use it, the more you become stuffed up until you use it. You need to hold on to with the SALINE trunk spray. It clears the sinus cavities which is the material problem. When the sinuses clear, the nose will unstuff and you can breath again. Give it a few weeks. Try using breathing strips to sustain get that brick out ! Or simply put your finger within your nose and verbs the nostrel down and out to the side to "unstick" the passages means of access up your nostrel. Could be that you have a deviated septum. See your doctor. Sounds gross, but you can other go to your pharmacy, and draw from one of those little ball close to nose suckers babys use to relieve stuffiness. It does work. You press the bubble, insert in your feeler and suck out all the gunk. Than you use the saline to cleanse and moisten the nasal alleyway.
