Does age affect your nail - flaking, blistering?

Have just gone through untimely menopause and have developed fearful finger nails, - flaking, crumbling, very soft is within a problem?

What would be the most probable causes?

Age 45

Answers:    Diet, vitamin deficiency- strength and AGE- so you are right!
If you have not already done it, procure your thyroid checked.

I went through one and the same thing, thinking it be age. Then I got my thyroid checked, found out I enjoy a deficiency, started taking medication, and they get better. They are still worse than when I was younger, but not as doomed to failure as without the thyroid medication.
