can u list cures for leukemia please..its for a project..simply a few cures
Answers: Bone marrow transplant along with chemotherapy
There is no cure. The lone possible cure is a stem cell or bone marrow transplant. It cannot be labeled as an official cure because bone marrow biopsies cannot detect the single cancer cell. Young adults surrounded by good form other wise own great prognosis today compared to even 5 years ago. The numbers are so low on the statistics though because the majority of patients are the very young-looking or the very behind the times, neither of which can tolerate the harsh chemo treatment or transplant.
Children most typically acquire ALL, which is actually particularly treatable, but prognosis is poor because the very immature just cant manipulate the treatment. CML is most common beside the elderly, which can be treated with transplant, but most elderly cant tolerate transplant. It can be controlled for a while though near chemo.
I have AML. Was orginally diagnosed 3 years ago, go through chemo, relapsed one year ago and went through transplant this historic summer. My third cousin had aml as an infant and died. Another cousin have ALL as a child went through chemo and is still within remission. A former teacher of mine have AML and went through transplant 13 years ago and have remained in remission since transplant.
