Help! Perfume allergy surrounded by the workplace?

I am allergic to perfume and I work with a woman that wear it very heavily. I own mentioned it to my supervisor and he asked me if i could take pills for it which i said no because I have heart disease. I hold made it clear on several occasion that i am allergic to perfume and own even been made fun of by my supervisor beside little snide remarks. yesterday i had to travel into the office of the woman that wear the perfume and she told me that if i didn't like it i could stay out of her organization but i have to dance in within for stamps and to give her paperwork. she is not contained by a higher position than me but she is friends near the supervisor so she is allowed to get away near everything. i know the ADA says she isn't guaranteed the right to wear perfume and i am guaranteed the right to breathe and not be contained by pain but i own tried everything including ignoring it and not saw anything to anyone and it is only getting worse for me around here. what can i do?

Answer:
A huge problem. I'll bet you can't walk former the perfume counters in stores as resourcefully. Asthma suffers have have to put up or be shut in for years. There are presently many municipalities ratification laws to create excessive perfume, deodorant and after shave, an offence. Many bus companies are also putting posters within their buses to make relations aware of how damn offencive perfume is. Especially heavy users.
I' d hold your doctor write a note. If that doesn't work, is the chore worth it? Sounds like you'll be harrassed no thing what. Can you talk to someone above your boss?
We have a similar problem where I worked. We get together as a whole and voted on sundry problems we were have, not just the allergy..........but several personal customs that affect others in the workplace. After the detail was compiled, the supervisor lead the meeting and respectively item was discussed and voted on whether it deserved to be eliminate or the group could live with it. It worked thoroughly well in need bringing in the ADA and the co-workers put a bet on stabbing eachother. Maybe it could work for you, I don't know but it is worth a try at being grow about the issue.
I agree beside the previous poster. The only channel that you can prove disability is to get a information from your doctor indicating that this is a genuine medical condition for you and what the consequences of exposure would be.
Write a memo threatening workplace harassment, afterwards contact an attorney. Send the letter to your boss' boss.
Start looking elsewhere, for one entity. I tmight ease your mind roughly the level of control you hold in your own existence.
You deserve better, period.
Then, relish surrounded by the fact that you can, if you want, report them to OSHA. Osh's not the right agency? They'll relay you who is.
Take the power back.
It's YOUR time, your health, and your mental condition, too.
Good luck,
and God Bless You!
I would suggest getting a doctor's note clich¨¦ just that and (make a copy of the letter) after give it to your supervisor, if your supervisor does not say-so anything to the person(s) wearing the perfume, go over his/head next to the president of the company.
If she were a smoker this wouldn't fly I bet. Go to your doctor ASAP, acquire a "note" regarding your allergy and your inability to embezzle meds then furnish it to your supervisor with a memo/meeting stating that you hold the legal right to work contained by a place that does not cause you physical disease and should not have to even consider drug because of their inability to establish a policy. Is there a human resource department? Make sure you bring a copy of the doctor's documentation with you to HR and describe them if she doesn't stop wearing it you have no choice but to follow up beside an ADA action. After working within a hospital environment it took a long time, but they finally restricted the use of perfumes, nouns fresheners etc because of patients with allergies (how considerate)! Be ready, be assertive and remember, the squeaky wheel get the oil.
