Can a doctor hear your heart through a medium/heavy sweater?
I've been have some heart symptoms. Can a cardiologist hear your heart well through clothing? I'm not an expert so I really don't know, but I verbs something could be missed.
Answers: It all depends on the compactness of the clothes, the amplification of the stethoscope, and the hearing and power of the physician. Each layer of cloth between the stethoscope and the heart decrease the sounds transmitted, but it is possible to hear everything well. If you are concerned, ask the doctor, or wear a see-through tshirt on your next look in.
