Has anybody have an renal ultrasound?
do you have to lift off the clothes below the waist? and what should i do formerly going for it?
Answers:
Where I work, we don't have a tolerant change into a gown. We bring the shirt up to a short time ago below bra level, and bring the pant down to just above the bladder. Usually, no pubic fleece is even seen.
Call the facility where on earth you are scheduled for their prep. We require patients who are planned in the morning to be NPO (nothing to eat) after midnight the hours of darkness before. For afternoon patients, we ask for NPO 6 hours prior to the exam. This is because drinking creates bowel gas. Ultrasound cannot see through bowel gas, and it interfers with a study of any abdominal organ. We also ask the long-suffering drink 16 oz of clear fluid (juice, coffee or water) one hour prior to the exam. If the urinary bladder is empty, we cannot see it!
"PREPARATION - RENAL ULTRASOUND:
Drink three, 8 ounce specs of water one hour past the exam. It is desired that you have a full bladder as we do enjoy to take metaphors of your bladder full and empty."

"Adequate visualization of abdominal structures next to ultrasound may be limited by layer of tissue (obesity) and the presence of bowel gas."

Just had one just now. No, you shouldnt have to nick off any clothes below the waist. I only had to undress from the waist up, and put on a gown. The complete process takes around 5-10 minutes, and its not invasive or painful at adjectives. Also, you don't have to do anything special to prepare, simply do whatever you as a rule do (eat, drink, etc.). Hope all go well!
my daughter have one when she was 3 weeks feeble she was wearing a nappy at the sime.
