No sensible doctor will attempt to second guess nature surrounded by this way. We own all tried it at one time or another and completed up with egg on our face. Difficult question. As the diagnosis of metastatic breast cancer is grave adequate, ascites compounds the problem. It is probably a case of symptom control very soon with fluid man ' tapped' from the abdomen. Speak next to the dietician as salt restriction can conceivably help.This is a most a pity condition and is usually a sign of the patient entering the terminal phase of go. As for time...well to be honest, probably not that long...I don`t know a few months.sorry to hear of your predicament.
It depends on other factors and whether they can capture the ascites back underneath control or not.
My son presented with malignant ascites next to 40 pounds of fluid in belly, legs, and feet. He be treated successfully with lasix and also undergo a treatment called intra-peritoneal hyperthermic perfusion to control microscopic disease and treat abdominal ascites. That be two years ago. He no longer is bothered by ascites, he's asymptomatic, and currently living with an inoperable pelvic tumor.
Difficult to say aloud. but I would be hoping that the person is getting the markedly best of care because thats profoundly of fluid and probably very distressing. I thought that liver ca cause ascities. Either way if chemo is no longer an pick enjoy the time while yo own it.
