ABA and Son Rise are to totally different approaches... ABA stands for Applied Behavior Analysis. And, it doesn't involve those sessions. Most times, those sessions do not even incorporate principals of ABA, so I think it is not the correct permanent status. Applied Behavior Analysis is a science in which you evaluate/study behavior, find the function (or the "why") of the behavior, and apply treatment appropriately. Applied Behavior Analysis suggests a scientific approach to first analyzing the problem behavior or the behavior you want to transmute, then systematically trialling reinforcement hypothesis in writ to increase pro-social behavior or decrease unwanted behavior. In the literature, most behavior is maintain by either escape from odd job, access to tangible items, access to social attention, or automatic (sensory). Or a combination of... For example, if you be able to determine that your son be tantrumming to escape a task or unwanted situation, you would design your treatment around this. You could any not allow him to escape when he exhibits this situation and introduce a break for appropriate requests (e.g., break card or PEC). You could also evaluate reinforcers and present for task completion.
On the other appendage, if your son was exhibiting that same tantrumming behavior, but you be able to determine that he did it every time you didn't pass him undevided attention, your treatment would be significantly different. Instead of teaching him to request break, you palpably would want him to teach to request attention. Or, you could set up times where on earth he knew when he be going to get your attention and wehn you have to work on something else.
But, you can get more information on abainternational.org. Overall, I would suggest reading and possibly even taking a course or two in ABA... Check Penn State's website for online ABA courses...
Son-Rise is a psychiatric help that has not be proven in the literature similar to ABA has, but the focus is more on fostering emotion and play... That, you could probably look up on a website. The only problem is that it is not reputable all the same... there are no certifications contained by the field whereas ABA have colleges and universities near highly respected programs within this field and within is a certification (BCBA). Board Certifiied Behavior Analyst)...
Just ask around, but that website is correct. And, Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis is a great place to read on research and treatments.
The bottom line beside those therapies is to get hold of down on the floor and play with your kid. I would vote yes but I know most people would read aloud no. One on one floor time is all they are maxim just truism in different ways.
