Bone Marrow Transplant...?
My cousin needs a bone marrow transplant, is here a chance I'll be asked to interview and see if I'm a match? I don't know adjectives of the rules and things like that, similar to who can be a match, etc. And, what does donating bone marrow involve? Is it painful for any person involved? Thanks.
Answers: Yes, you could be asked to be tested. It is possible for any blood relative, as resourcefully as for strangers, to be a match, but she have the best shot with a blood relative. The best possible meeting is a sibling, and I'm assuming if your cousin has any, they will already hold been tested... The procedure can be sensitive for both parties, but isn't that worth abiding a life? Your cousin and this situation will be within my prayers. Good luck!
Yes any one can be asked. and yes you can match. you want to have close tissue and blood type. donating marrow is when a doctor sticks a VERY substantial needle into your hip bone and the syringe goes inthrough the bone to the center. once it is contained by the doctor will take as much marrow needed and afterwards remove the needle. you are below general anethesia but are awake and it hurts close to he!! still. but it is worth it to save a individuals life and you own to get a alot of shots to product sure you are healthy plus you can never enjoy had cancer because you marrow is discouraging. and the person receiveing the marrow have to have their immune system completely kill off so it wont eject ur marrow so the party may die from a asimplle cold and is put in a sterilized room beside the vistors having to come surrounded by in full body suits. p[lus your marrow still possibly rejected. it is a lot of risk but it works!
