Does my situation qualify me for Short Term Disability?
I'm 23 weeks pregnant and my stress level at work have risen 100%. After a couple of hours at work I feel like I've run a impressive. I've tried bringing extra snacks with me and I still feel fragile all the time. I dread going in to work and I've never feel that way before. I can request a hand down of absence, but I can't afford to just run the time off. What is the best route for me to go near this?
Answer: You are in a tough spot. Your condition does not qualify for a short term disability. You can really be justified in taking time bad work but not if you are not paid. I encourage you to walk to your doctor and explain what you are going through. This may be a short term medical condition related to your pregnancy and it is possible that your doctor can help. Good luck!.
If stress and tiredness from work qualified as a disability, we would not own a workforce. We would all be on disability.
