I need to know how they cure them like via drugs, chemo, virus etc...
Answers:    Gbm is the most aggressive form of brain tumors. They grow back, but beside the treatments and drugs now days you have a better chance of living much longer than freshly a few years ago. Many times, when you have a brain tumor even though you get all the treatments, it will eventually grow stern gbm. Gbm is pure astrocytoma cells, always grade 4. I have a mixed cell tumor called oligoastrocytoma grade 3. I'm afraid when mine grows back, it will be pure astrocytoma cell.

Conventional medicine is limited in curing it. They do brain surgeries and radiation - uncertain medical procedures which seldom cure it.

There are experimental and alternative treatments which are sometimes effective, and less dangerous than the standard treatment. Considering the gravity of the situation - you should consider it seriously.
-Experimental cancer vaccines (they may want a fresh piece of your tumor - so you need to arrange it before surgery)
-Viruses such as the chickenpox virus which like cancer cell and sometime cure it.
-Some Medicinal mushrooms.
You need to find the specialists and the medical centers which do these treatments. There are only a handful in the world. Please entry that the standard medical insurance does not cover experimental treatments. Source(s): Cancer in family

If someone you know has a glioblastoma multiforme, first, you enjoy my sympathy for the journey you are about to start. You need to know five things:

1. There are seriously of people who have survived this kind of brain tumor.
2. Statistics are, by their humour, about the past - this kind of tumor is man researched aggressively and the statistics are simply wrong.
3. The treatment needs to be determined, if not done by, a major research center. DO NOT simply get this treated by your local doctor/hospital.
4. All treatment will be multi-pronged and will vary from patient to long-suffering, but should include radiation, gamma knife, chemotherapy and surgery in most cases. If it doesn't, make sure the patient's nearest and dearest understands exactly why not.
5. There is no cure, yet, but, see item 1.

There are treatments, the treatments can work, and they are not just fogey and palliative. Source(s): Mom of a glioblastoma multiforme survivor. Six years and counting, three years with no treatment whatsoever.

Hi,

Glioblastoma multiformes is a very aggressive and common type of brain tumor which cannot be treated well. The reason being that tumor cells enjoy been found to be very resistant to chemotherapy and radiotherapy; secondly brain does not have the dexterity to regenerate itself. Also many drugs do not cross the blood brain barrier.
Treatment is mainly symptomatic beside the help of anticonvulsants and corticosteroids and palliative treatment using surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

Thanks,

This is not a curable disease and any treatment is considered palliative. The median survival rate is 1 year, although about 1 in every 5,000-6,000 survives for decades. You might want to look at UCLA’s website as they own done extensive research on this disease and conduct clinical trials for it.
