Answers: Gbm is the most aggressive form of brain tumors. They grow back, but beside the treatments and drugs now days you have a better chance of living much longer than freshly a few years ago. Many times, when you have a brain tumor even though you get all the treatments, it will eventually grow stern gbm. Gbm is pure astrocytoma cells, always grade 4. I have a mixed cell tumor called oligoastrocytoma grade 3. I'm afraid when mine grows back, it will be pure astrocytoma cell.

1. There are seriously of people who have survived this kind of brain tumor.
2. Statistics are, by their humour, about the past - this kind of tumor is man researched aggressively and the statistics are simply wrong.
3. The treatment needs to be determined, if not done by, a major research center. DO NOT simply get this treated by your local doctor/hospital.
4. All treatment will be multi-pronged and will vary from patient to long-suffering, but should include radiation, gamma knife, chemotherapy and surgery in most cases. If it doesn't, make sure the patient's nearest and dearest understands exactly why not.
5. There is no cure, yet, but, see item 1.

Hi,Glioblastoma multiformes is a very aggressive and common type of brain tumor which cannot be treated well. The reason being that tumor cells enjoy been found to be very resistant to chemotherapy and radiotherapy; secondly brain does not have the dexterity to regenerate itself. Also many drugs do not cross the blood brain barrier.
Treatment is mainly symptomatic beside the help of anticonvulsants and corticosteroids and palliative treatment using surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
