Is my blood sugar to high?
im 14 and my blood sugar is 149. I didnt eat anything befor i took it. capably my mom actually took it for me because she was somewhat worried because diabetes runs in my family. She wouldnt bring up to date me if it was good or doomed to failure but she looked a little worried but im not sure, can anyone tell me if its impossible?? do i need to go go and get checked up by the docter?? my moms a nurse and i thought she might no, but she just wont tell me if its goo dor unpromising, any help?
Answer: yes and already stated 149 is to high regular is 70-100 approxiately..
yes 149 is too high for you not having anything to drink.. 80-120 used to be the norm but now i hear it is 70-110. I would think your mom would call for the dr and have you do a fasting blood oral exam. You basically don't eat, jump to the drs (or whereever you have blood drawn) drink a very sugary substance (not sure what it is called) and steal a blood test every hour for 4 hours. I had to hold one when i was 15 and that was a few years ago but that be how it was done then. First it's a spot reading that you own experienced. You did not explain how long before the sample you have eaten or drank anything other than hose. Yes, it seems a little lofty, but a HbA1C test would give you the average for the ultimate 90 days.

A fasting blood sugar of 149 is too high. Since she's a nurse, she requirements to be explaining all this to you.

Depends when you last ate anything. Be cautious with sweets. Test once in the morning up to that time you eat or drink anything, and once 2 hours after eating. how heaps hours did you wait after you ate something to test? it requests to be at least 8 hours for an accurate fasting glucose.
