Shingles in the eye? Any info? I am really worried.?
My grandfather told us today he has shingles surrounded by his eyes. My grandmother (his ex-wife) told me this could be pretty serious. He is the type to give lil info so that you don't worry. So what does this connote? And can you really go blind? I am really worried.

People who are immunocompromized often gain shingles on their face. This does not mean they are in actuality in his eye, but they could be. If they are, he will be seen by an opthamologist and be treated near special eye drops and eye cream. It is very serious and can cause blindness within the affected eye. there is a small opening of going blind is he taking any medicince for it or eye drops . and shingles usally doesnt start in the face its usally on your spinal column or stomach and it can be spreaded to your face
