What is the guaranteed cure for type 1 diabetes?

If someone out there know the answer. I too would like to know.

Answer:    there is no cure for Diabetes...even so.
There are some very promising studies currently underway adopt similar approaches of, correcting the autoimmune problem together with regenerating Beta cell growth. Dr Faustman is probably the best particular using BCG vaccine but also DiaKine using LSF in combination with INGAP and also Dr Terry Strom of Harvard University. See the links below surrounded by 'sources'.
In fact there are fairly a few researchers with similar approaches. I do believe that any scepticism that there might own been in times gone by as to the possibility of reversing type 1 is now on the back-foot, due to the weight of evidence i.e. demonstrating that this realistically achievable in principle. Hopefully this will speed progress to a viable cure.
In the non-attendance of a full 'reversal/cure' encapsulated cell transplants are another realistic and acievable alternative. Encapsulation of transpanted Beta cells have demonstrated that dangerous immunosuppressants (such as used in the Edmonton Protocol) are surplus to requirements, the encapsulation system (alginate) hides the cells from the immune system but allows nutrients within, to support the cell and also allows insulin to be secreted. The work being done by LCT in New Zealand is possibly the most advanced and promising within this field (see below)..
There is no cure. I hope there will be someday.

Advances contained by research have been made and possible methods hold been found but a few are quite controversial (stem cell transplants, for instance0.

As for gastric bypass curing type 2, specifically not true. Yes, it may seem like a cure when a human being is able to go sour meds but the diabetes is still there, just waiting to once again flipside it's ugly head. I suppose people are confusing "cure" with "control". Many type 2s are competent to go off meds. However, they must still carry on strict vigilance over their diets and exercise plans.

Keep hoping...I support research into a cure. I've had type 1 longer than I care to remember.

The only guarantee, at the moment, is loss.

There are currently experimental surgeries, involving the transplantation of islet cells into the liver of the recipient, undergo trials. At the moment, however, there is no 100% success rate, though strides are one made in that direction.

Some type 1s are remaining free of insulin injections for periods of time, whereas others are competent to use smaller doses of insulin for lengthier periods.

Current research in this nouns surrounds encapsulating the transplanted islet cells in an extract from seaweed which, apparently, deters the recipient's body from rejecting the transplant. (There are transplants currently mortal done using human islets and also islets from genetically modified pigs.)

Let's keep our fingers crossed that something comes of it..
