Why aren't the water pills making my swollen feet go down?
I have shutting stage Liver Disease and have a TIPS shunt to help bypass the clogged liver as the varices own ruptured more than once.
Answer: In liver disease it is not always water retention that cause swelling. Sometimes because of the liver malfunction blood proteins are depleted. These proteins help osmotically to hold solution in the blood vessels. When they are low it is easier for fluid to leach out from the blood vessels into the tissue causing swelling. This type of swelling does not respond to wet pills..
You need to soak your feet within ebsom salt! Check your blood sugar.
